FRIDAY FAVORITES

Another week, another edition of Friday Favorites comin’ atcha!

This week was all about prepping for the installation of shower tile in Guest Room 3. Within Content, Guest Room 3 will be the 4th (and final) bathroom renovation we’re tackling - not to mention the work we’ve done for customers in their own homes.

Throughout those projects, we’ve done our fair share of tile research. So much research, I have a whole post to share with you next week about awesome, budget friendly tile options available in-stock from Home Depot and Lowes. Stay tuned!

Other stuff we loved this week…

FAVORITE BAKED GOOD

A couple weekends ago, we hosted a few of John’s forever friends from Connecticut. We had a blast! One of those lovely house guests (Hi, Cat!) baked and brought Salted Butter and Chocolate Chunk Shortbread Cookies. It may have been the numerous cocktails we drank before indulging, but we stand by our opinion that these are the BEST cookies we have ever had.

I’m not sure which recipe Cat uses, but here’s Alison Roman’s recipe from her book Dining In.

FAVORITE TREND

As a teen of the 90’s, I was elated to read that Dickies are making a come back. I’d happily dig my dark wash Dickies carpenter jeans out of my parent’s attic!

FAVORITE BLOOM

Three years ago, John planted an Eastern Red Bud (Cercis canadensis). This has been the most anticipated bloom of the season (according to John, at least). He’s checked on this little tree, everyday for 3 weeks. And finally, this week, it bloomed!

FAVORITE NETFLIX

Let me preface this by saying, I’m not in the BeyHive. BUT, if you’ve chatted with me in the last 7 days, chances are I didn’t stop talking about Beyonce.

During a case of insomnia last week, I watched Homecoming, A Film by Beyonce and was blown away. Her drive. Her creative integrity. Her STAMINA. Let’s just say, I was so tired after watching Bey dance for 2-straight, mf hours, I slept like a baby.

FAVORITE MOTHER’S DAY GIFT

No matter who you’re shopping for this Mother’s Day, you can’t go wrong with this book by America’s favorite fixer-upper.

Or create a cook book of your own, filled with family recipes passed from generation-to-generation.

FAVORITE USE OF TWITTER

I have to admit, the idea of a silent leaf blower got me super excited! Anyone else have a neighbor that favors doing yard work at 6:00am on a Sunday? Elon Musk saves the day, or was it Dwight (from The Office) who suggested the idea?
